Larsen & Toubro (L&T), an infrastructure conglomerate, has announced plans to recruit around 1,100 graduate and post-graduate engineer trainees in 2021 for its various business verticals.
in the recent hiring season, through a virtual hiring process, the company has already made around 250 offers at IIT Madras, IIT Guwahati, IIT BHU, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Roorkee, IIT Kharagpur, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, IIT Hyderabad and other IITs.
It is reported that each year the engineering and construction conglomerate onboards more than 1,100 engineers, the lion's share of which comes from IITs, NITs, and topnotch government engineering colleges.
The company did not lose momentum even during the COVID-19 pandemic and built a virtual hiring platform to facilitate 100 per cent remote recruitment for 2020.
The L&T digital hiring process includes a testing process conducted via a remote proctoring tool that monitors the test on 14 parameters. The company further informed that the recruits would be placed in an internally-developed induction program for more than three weeks.
The program is an opportunity for the recruits to be able to interact with the senior leadership of the company and acquaint themselves with the core values and strategies of the organisation.
Pandemic challenges notwithstanding, L&T was able to complete its three-week induction program for all new hires in August 2020. The recruits will be deployed in roles like business development, strategy, design, contract management, project management and construction management among others
